The board selected Camie to continue the Foundation’s mission of facilitating impactful grantmaking, deepening philanthropic engagement among donors, and charting a bold course for future growth.

Introducing Camie VanKeuren

Camie brings over 20 years of experience in nonprofit development and leadership, most recently serving as Vice President of Philanthropy at Valley Health Foundation. She has a proven track record of developing meaningful relationships with strategic partners, nonprofit and board management, and program design and implementation.

Prior to her current role, she served as Chief Development Officer at VHF, leading the organization’s philanthropic vision and strategy. Earlier in her career, Camie held multiple leadership roles at the American Heart Association, including Vice President of Development. Over the course of her career, she has gained experience in major gifts programs, grants administration, planned giving, and board development.

“I’m proud of our thoughtful and thorough search process, which underscored how imperative it was to find the right leader for this pivotal moment,” said Pat Waite, Chair of the Board. “We have complete confidence that Camie is the right person to continue our strategic direction, and together, we will drive our mission forward with unwavering energy and purpose.”

In addition to her professional work, Camie serves as Chair of the Board of Directors for the Happy Hollow Foundation. A San Jose native, she holds a bachelor’s degree from San Jose State University and a master’s in Nonprofit Administration from the University of San Francisco. She is a parishioner at Saint Frances Cabrini Parish and serves on the PTG at Sant Frances Cabrini Catholic School.

“I embrace and look forward to working toward the Foundation’s vision of a thriving local Church and donor community,” remarked Camie. “Empowering local Catholic donors and strengthening our Church will result in richer ministries, deeper spiritual renewal, and a better community for all our neighbors here in the valley. The Foundation is in a strong position to create positive impact and make meaningful connections for donors and beneficiaries throughout our community.”

Deep Gratitude for Mary Quilici Aumack’s Service as CEO

The Board of Directors extends its heartfelt gratitude to Mary Quilici Aumack for her 17 years of dedicated, faithful, and impactful leadership. Under her leadership, the Foundation reached $10 million in grant making in a single year in 2023, met all of its sustainability goals, and embraced a bold vision for the future of Catholic philanthropy.

Mary leaves behind a robust culture of innovation, collaboration and integrity. “Here at the Foundation, we are committed to providing FOREVER VALUE: sustainable relevant support for ministries and programs that change communities. Camie brings a combination of faith, experience, and approach that will serve the Foundation well as we continue to respond to needs and opportunities,” commented Mary.

The Future of the Catholic Community Foundation

Building on the solid groundwork already in place, Camie will collaborate closely with staff, board members, fund holders, advisors, and beneficiaries as she steps into the role of CEO. This seamless transition underscores the commitment to the Foundation’s enduring mission and emphasis on collaboration and excellence.

There will be opportunities in the fall and winter for fund holders, advisors, and beneficiaries to get to know Camie and hear from her directly.

The Catholic Community Foundation has served the Catholic community since 2004, empowering local parishes and ministries of the Diocese of San Jose, schools, and nonprofits through grants, education, and partnership. To date, CCF has awarded nearly $82 million in grants primarily from endowments and family funds (including Donor Advised Funds) to advance ministries of the Diocese of San Jose, strengthen our Catholic church, and create impact for our community. The Foundation works with donors to enhance their philanthropic journeys and plan their charitable legacies.
